The eNG is a private, secure, reliable, high speed data network connecting all six Health Authorities to each other, to the Kamloops Data Centre, and to external partners. For technical compatibility reasons there is no other viable alternative for eHealth Network Gateway than using the TELUS offering. The network infrastructure is already built, and it would be a significant effort and expense to switch to another supplier to build a new network.
